Humble Beginnings

The idea for the Launchpad6 Video Platform came from a documentary Peter Mandin (Founder and CEO) was watching in September 2009. The documentary told the story of how a young brazillian was discovered playing Football by the side of the road by a scout that just happened to be travelling through the town on vacation.

Peters first thought was that there had to be some way for these people to be found on the internet, but after an extensive search he realised that there in fact wasn’t and instantly knew a great opportunity existed.

After discussing the idea for a talent based video website with numerous friends at local watering holes, he knew this was a once in a lifetime opportunity and resigned his job as a Superyacht Captain to pursue what was then mynaturaltalent.com.

A change of direction

In January 2010, Peter then decided that a talent-finding system like this would be more popular if it was branded, and so mynaturaltalent.com became the Launchpad6 Video Platform, a white-label video site with a focus on finding talent.

Shortly after, Peter contracted digital agency Realise Media to build the system and after several months of development Realise was acquired by Launchpad6 to bring both IT and Marketing experience into the company.

Fueled by these fresh outlooks and new experience, the Launchpad6 Video Platform evolved into the white-label video competition system it is today. It officially launched on March 1st 2011, marking the end of 18 months of product and business development.

A Bright Future

With an exciting product in a rapidly growing industry, the future is bright for Launchpad6 Pty Ltd and the bunch of surfers that took the idea from concept to completion. This part of the story is yet to be written however, and we look forward to working with all of you to help write it with us…
